Good morning, dog lover.
Humans call it getting back into a routine. Dogs call it: why are we waking up earlier, where is everybody going, and why was that walk so short? September is almost here, and this week we’re looking at the small things dogs notice long before we realize they’re paying attention.

Dogs live in a world of tiny signals: the hand reaching for the leash, the hour everyone usually leaves, the sound of a drawer opening, the routine that suddenly changes. We notice the big moments. They seem to notice almost everything in between.
