The humans were allowed in up to their knees. The dogs got the pool party. Finally, a guest policy with its priorities straight.
On Sunday, September 27, 296 dogs helped set a new Guinness World Record for the most dogs attending a dog pool party at Doodlepalooza 2026 in Las Vegas. Cowabunga Canyon, the waterpark hosting the event, celebrated the record on its own social channels.
That is a fairly impressive answer to “What did your dog do this weekend?”

The VIPs had four paws
The setup was very much designed around the canine guests. Doodles and poodle mixes had access to the wave pool, kiddie area and grassy lawns, with the kiddie area specifically highlighted for smaller or more cautious pups.
Not every dog wants to jump straight in. Some prefer to test the water first, while others are perfectly happy enjoying the party with all four paws on dry land.
The waterslides stayed closed, and human swimming was off the agenda. People could wade in to supervise, but this was not a human pool party that happened to allow dogs. The dogs were the main event.
Less “Can I bring my dog?” and more “Your dog can bring you.”
A very specific claim to fame
The previous benchmark was 276 dogs, set by Chewy in Coral Gables, Florida, on May 9, 2026. Doodlepalooza’s tally put it 20 dogs ahead.
The dogs didn’t have to race, jump or perform a perfectly rehearsed trick. They simply had to join the pool party—not a bad way to earn a place in the record books. The dogs got a day at the waterpark, and their humans got bragging rights for the next trip to the dog park.
The party was also for dogs who weren’t there
Doodlepalooza was Doodle Rescue USA’s inaugural splash-day fundraiser, presented by We Love Doodles. The rescue works to rehabilitate and rehome doodles and poodle mixes across the Las Vegas valley.
Organizers said proceeds would help fund veterinary care, foster placements, transportation and adoptions.
That gives the gathering something beyond an excellent guest list. Families got to enjoy a day built around their dogs while supporting the work of finding homes for others.
The record is the headline. Helping more dogs find their people is a pretty good reason to throw the party in the first place.
As Sunday plans go, this one will be difficult to top. Although your dog would probably still accept a trip to the park.
